New company leader started Komet career as Director of Marketing and Product Management.
ROCK HILL, S.C. (Aug 9, 2022) – Komet, a leader in the production of highly specialized and precise dental rotary instruments, has announced that Mercedes Aycinena has been appointed as Komet USA’s new Chief Executive Officer. She assumed responsibilities on August 1
st, 2022.
“Mercedes has a proven track record of driving strategies and delivering results as Director of Marketing and Product Management, as well as Chief of Staff,” said Klaus Rüebesamen, Managing Director of the global parent company. “She has demonstrated outstanding leadership, and I’m thrilled to have a visionary leader who will guide us in achieving our long-term goals.”
Aycinena, 45, joined Komet USA in 2021 as Director of Marketing and Product Management and was appointed Chief of Staff in April of 2022.
Originally from Madrid, Spain, Aycinena brings 20 years of diversified experience in strategy development, marketing, communications, sales and product management. She has global experience working in various healthcare segments including pharmaceutical, medical device, supply chain and technology sectors.

Aycinena holds a bachelor’s degree from University San Pablo CEU (Madrid, Spain) and attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) for a post-grad certification. She obtained her master’s degree in Marketing Communication at Loyola University Chicago.
She and her husband have three children and reside in North Carolina. Aycinena will be based out of Komet USA’s headquarters in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
