Accreditation Super Session: Case Types 1
Case Type 1 is heavily weighted in Accreditation criteria due to the smile design elements involved.
This course will demonstrate how to: “Ace Your Case” by improving the accuracy, efficiency, and predictability of all your anterior esthetic cases.
See how smile design relates to proper prep design and how fabrication of mockup smiles helps verify esthetic and occlusal planning. We will review trends for tooth preparation, as well as bonding steps for veneers. Understand how the accuracy of digital impression systems and modern impression materials can help you plan and deliver beautiful cases with consistency and confidence.
Learning Objectives:
- Better understanding the AACD twelve (12) digital photos series and how basic smile design criteria can improve lab communication, case planning, and overall success and patient satisfaction
- See how the accuracy and efficiency of modern impression systems and materials can improve the predictability and quality of your porcelain veneer restorations for Case Type 1 submission

About the Speaker
Dr. John Weston earned his dental degree in 1989, graduating as one of the top five in his class. While a commissioned officer in the US Navy, he completed a general practice residency at Balboa Naval Hospital San Diego and served two years independent duty aboard a US Navy Warship in support of Desert Storm.
Dr. Weston is the only dentist in La Jolla and one of less than 100 worldwide to earn the rigorous credential of “Accredited Fellow” of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry; it is considered the highest level of certification for the field. As a strong advocate of continuing education, he regularly lectures, publishes articles, and teaches hands-on courses to other dentists covering all aspects of cosmetic dentistry on a local and international level. He has also served two terms as a chairman of the Professional Education Committee for the AACD’s annual Scientific Session and is currently serving a second 3-year term on the American Board of Cosmetic Dentistry.
