Exposed: Shade: A Prosthodontist’s Hands-On Guide for the Clinical Team to Master the Perfect Color Match
CE Credits: 3.0
Thursday, February 20 at 12:30 pm - 3:30 pmConventional shade matching involves taking intraoral photographs with porcelain tabs. However, shade tabs are limited by tooth dehydration and the intrinsic color variation of natural teeth; they do not always possess properties covered by the range of currently available shade guides. This presentation will outline predictable methods for the clinical staff to communicate with the dental laboratory using value-based shade guides, cross-polarized filters, and spectrophotometers for fixed, implant, and removable restorations.
After this course, you will be able to:
- Review shortcomings of shade communication between clinician/technician
- Establish tooth shade techniques that enhance the treatment and delivery of various dental restorations
- Develop a case-specific armamentarium based on treatment needs
